The winter of 2008-09 was pretty daunting for us, as we had a large number of incidents reported to us in respect to wood theft.
One particular incident led us very close to going down the prosecution route, but with help from Leicestershire Constabulary, we were able to issue a very strict warning to the group of individuals concerned.
2009-10 seems to have been much better. The new signage seems to have worked and the problem seems to be under control.
If you do spot individuals taking wood from the site, please let us know through this blog, or on email and we'll capture the evidence to tackle the individuals concerned through the appropriate channels.

- Friends of Holly Hayes Wood are a community group, comprising of local residents, who aim to set-up a social enterprise to maintain and improve Holly Hayes Wood, Coalville Meadows and Forest Rock Wood. The group acquired the Holly Hayes Wood and Coalville meadows sites back in 2008 and intend to acquire the Forest Rock Wood site in the near future. The group want the local community to enjoy the meadowland & woodlands, be able to show their children the bluebells in the spring and walk their dogs safely in the woods for many years to come.
