The laws surrounding the carrying of firearms in public places would appear to be very confusing, with conflicting guidelines being available. However, as landowners of Holly Hayes Wood and Coalville Meadows our position is quite clear.
Individuals wishing to carry firearms through the sites may ONLY do so when using the public footpath between St Bernard's Road and Meadow Lane. At all times, the firearm in question must be covered in an appropriate gun slip case.
Individuals found deviating off the main public footpath carrying firearms may be prosecuted. Individuals found shooting on our land WILL face prosecution.
If you spot anyone carrying firearms on the sites, and not following these guidelines, please report this to us so we can take it up with the authorities.

- Friends of Holly Hayes Wood are a community group, comprising of local residents, who aim to set-up a social enterprise to maintain and improve Holly Hayes Wood, Coalville Meadows and Forest Rock Wood. The group acquired the Holly Hayes Wood and Coalville meadows sites back in 2008 and intend to acquire the Forest Rock Wood site in the near future. The group want the local community to enjoy the meadowland & woodlands, be able to show their children the bluebells in the spring and walk their dogs safely in the woods for many years to come.
